Old Rococo Baroque Heavy Duty Brass Table Lamp & Satin Glass Shade LION PAW FEET

  

This is a fine large and substantial vintage brass table lamp. It comes complete with its white satin opaque finish tulip-shaped shade.

The glass is textured with a pretty diamond pattern all over. It is in perfect condition with no chips or condition issues. The main body section is made of heavy cast brass - it has a tall pillar decorative stem or upstand. This is rather Rococo / High Baroque in style - and as you can see with lots of intricate foliage decorations and detail. I love the base - which is tripod shaped with three sides and cute little lion paw feet at each corner - there are c-scrolls on the corner.

It has an on-off finger switch on the bulb holder. It also has its original wiring - and it is currently not earthed - so it would benefit from being re-wired - which is not a difficult task. There is an impressed mark on the base: RF 94. It is nice and clean - with no grubbiness. It has a rich old patina commensurate with its age - it is an old lamp and shouldn't really be cleaned up to a gleaming gold colour as you will lose all feeling of it being a period piece.

It is a large and substantial table lamp - the height from the base to top of the upstand (not including the brass bulb holder is) 13 3/4 inches. The length of each tripod foot side is 5 1/4 inches. The shade is 5 inches in height - with a diameter at the top of 6 inches. The overall height including the shade is 2o inches - so a big boy - great feature table or desk lamp for brightening up a dark corner in your interior. Please feel free to ask me anymore questions.
